Here are some Frequently Asked Questions

- Where is Port Canaveral Florida and is there such a thing as Port Canaveral Airport. If not, how far is Port Canaveral from Orlando Airport(MCO)?
Port Canaveral is within the city limits of Cape Canaveral and is 48 miles east of Orlando airport(Most used airport near Port Canaveral).
-I’m not sure whether to fly in the day before our cruise or to arrive the day the ship sails and where do you recommend we stay if we fly in the night before?
You're better off flying in the day before the cruise as we have seen passengers cut it really close time and time again because of delayed flights, bad weather and road conditions (Brush fires are common along the main highway between Orlando Airport and Port Canaveral).
You're even better off putting all the traveling behind the day before the cruise and staying at a hotel near Port Canaveral vs. one near the Orlando Airport .Once there you can catch the hotel shuttle to the cruise terminal (5 minutes drive) as bright and early as you like the following morning. Check out the link to all the Port Canaveral/Cocoa Beach area hotels at the bottom of this page.
-If we decided to fly in the day of the cruise, by what time should we arrive at Orlando International?
You should arrive no later than 1:30 pm at the absolute latest (Book a flight to arrive by 12:30 pm allowing some time for any unexpected delays). A comfortable arrival time to catch a cruise is between 10:00 am and 11:30 am.
-Where do we meet the driver at the airport and coming back from the cruise ship?
Our Printer-Friendly version of this page contains contact info, rates and driver meet and greet procedures. You may want to print it if you are not sure whether to book at this time or contact us at a later date and to carry it with you while traveling.
-We will be staying at a hotel near the airport on the day of the cruise. What time should we leave for Port Canaveral?
Most ships start boarding around 1:30 pm and most passengers leave the airport area between 12:00 pm & 1:00 pm (The later you leave the shorter the lines outside the terminals especially for those going on 1 week cruises. You may leave as late as 2:00 pm as long as road conditions allow it. It takes 45 minutes to get to the Port from the Orlando airport area).
-We’re arriving on the same day of our cruise at Orlando airport but at different times. How do you handle multiple arrivals?
We ask that you provide us with the info of the latest arriving flight and ask that everyone arriving before that flight to walk or have a skycap accompany them to the baggage claim area of that later arriving flight so everybody can depart from the same place at the same time.
- We’re returning a rental car at Orlando Airport. Can you still pick us up from there?
Yes we can recommend a pick up location for you to meet the driver at the airport when you make your reservation.
-Can you pick up from a hotel near Disney first, then Lake Buena Vista and then from the airport?
We are very flexible in our ability to pick you up from any location in metro Orlando and the airport (No restrictions). Additional charges apply for extra stops. If you have a special need or request just let us know when booking your reservation and we’ll take care of the rest.
-We have an early flight on the way back home after the cruise and we’re worried about not making our flight in time. Do you have any suggestions as to how to make sure we can exit the ship in a timely manner?
You do want to make sure that the guest service on the ship knows that you have an early flight and that you need to debark early ( You want to request what is called a "Self Assist Debarkation" in cruising lingo and be off the ship at least 3 hours before your flight). Some experienced cruisers have told us that they kept their bags inside their cabin the night before debarkation, allowing them to walk right off the ship with their bags in hand at the time of their choosing. This tip seems to work better with Royal Caribbean ships than Carnival.

-On the day we return home, our flight doesn’t leave until 6:00 pm . Do we have enough time to check out any of the area attractions?
Provided you leave the port by 9:15 am, you can spend about 3 hours at Kennedy Space Center (Enough to take the bus tour. 5 hours is recommended to see KSC) or go for an Airboat ride near Orlando Airport (allow 2 hours). For those of you who have a flight after 5:00 pm you may want to visit one of our many local theme parks such as Sea World or Universal Studios (Ask us about our luggage safeguarding program while visiting any area attraction or place of interest).
